Thomson River Weir Raising Project
This proposal has been submitted as a request for a Ministerial Infrastructure Designation (MID) under the Planning Act 2016 and a Regional Interests Development Approval (RIDA) under the Regional Planning Interests Act 2014.

For:
The raising of the five existing Thomson River Weirs located west/downstream of the Landsborough Highway by 1 m. The Project would:

  • Increase storage in the Town Storage by approximately 28 %
  • Include a construction period no longer than 12 months, undertaken in the dry season
  • A surface impact area of approximately 3.47 ha.

Channel Country Strategic Environmental Area – Designated Precinct
